Raphael, now he's an unusual one. Definately the most unique of the 4 turtles, as Splinter once said. The most familiar characteristics of Raph are: moody, irritable, short-fused, rude, sarcastic, and mean! But he's still got his good qualities, umm... doesn't he? *crickets chirp* Well I say that although he isn't the most friendly turtle of the bunch, he's a damn good fighter! Unfortunately though, he lets his temper get to him too much and sometimes he thinks he can take out the whole foot clan all by himself. Yeah right! But hey, I'm not gonna lecture him, that's Leo's job! (Splinter's too) One other bad thing, Raph's "hothead" personality often clashes with Leo's strict leadership. Raph kinda lives by his own rules sometimes. But despite the fact that the two can't stand each other at times, deep down they are truly best friends and they really care about one another. Raph would be devastated if any of his friends, and especially Leo, were killed.
Despite the fact that comic/movie Raph has his normal "angry tone" characteristics, I still like the toon Raph the best. Remember, toon Raph is very unusual himself. He doesn't share those same traits as the normal Raph does. In the cartoon he's very sarcastic and somewhat rude, hence the verse in the theme song, "Raphael is cool but rude". Well he's alittle like the normal Raph, but he's just not as hot-tempered. All the other turtles' personalities are the same in every universe, only slightly different. Raph is the only turtle who's personality changed for the cartoon. Ya know, tone it down for the kiddies and all that. Toon Raph is the first I ever knew, and because of his humor, I still love him the best! Ya gotta admit that Rob Paulson, the voice-over actor, is hysterical!
