Thoughts On Prayer

In The Stillness Of This Moment

In the stillness of this moment,
As I bow my head quietly in prayer,
I think and remind God that I am still here.
In the stillness of this moment,
as I sit in awe of His Presence,
I am reminded that He is still there.
In the stillness of this moment,
as I kneel before the King of Kings,
I reach out and seek His Love.
In the stillness of this moment,
as I kneel before the greatest man who ever lived,
He reaches out and touches my heart.
In the stillness of this moment,
as I clasp my hands together in prayer,
I make my request known to God.
In the stillness of this moment,
as I clasp my hands in honor of His Love,
He says, "It is done."

Prayer

Prayer is many things to many people,
but to me,
it is a lifeline to the Almighty.
It is a release of the everyday burdens that life holds for me.
It is time lost and graces gained.
It is touching God and never being the same.
It is true that prayer changes people,
for it opens a door to Love and freedom
to express that Love in a world so full of hatred and despair.
Thank You, God, for being there!

What is Prayer?

  I reach out in prayer,
because I know He is there.
Praying in solitude is as though one has taken flight on angel's wings
and soared gracefully over the highest mountains on earth.
Being in the Presence of God and His Holy Saints in prayer
is the epitome of Love.
It is speaking with my heart to Someone
who will listen and care.
Prayer is a Praise or a Petition.
Prayer is a Reconciliation or a request.
Prayer is an Answer or an adoration.
Prayer is a yearning to be met
or a yes when others say no.
Prayer is eternal or enlightening.
Prayer is a Revelation or a response.
So many thoughts on one little word.
A gate that opens a heart that has been closed.
