We live in troubled times,
an age of anxiety.
All of us subtly affected
by the climate of our age.
We must try to learn emotionally
as well as intellectually,
that God is truly very close
to each one of us.
His peace He offers in a
way the world never can.
PETITION:
Saint Dymphna,
powerful patroness of all
who are afflicted mentally and emotionally,
ask our Lord to grant us,
please, an untroubled heart,
peace, calm and rest.
Help me to learn how to entrust
all my fears and worries into His hands,
and to place all my confidence
in Christ's Love for me.
God's Word and Practice
GOD'S WORD:
"Why are you so downcast,
O my soul?
Why do you sigh within me?
Hope in God!
For I shall again be thanking
Him,
in the presence of my Savior
and my God."
(Ps42:6)
PRACTICE:
Be always aware of the presence
of God in His creation,
in all whom you meet, and
especially within yourself.
A Prayer of Praise
Praise to You,
Father for the innocent eyes
of children
for sunlight and flowers
and snowfalls
for the muscles of men who
build houses and hospitals and harbors
for the minds of scholars
who unfold the truths of the universe
for the hearts of parents
who teach us to love.
We praise You for what we
have.
We praise You, too,
for those things that Your
wise Love has decided to withhold from us.
What we are and have is from
You.
And our grateful response
can only be to share these treasures
with all Your children.
And praise to You, too, Father
for so many brothers and
sisters.
Amen.
