FOR THE FRAIL ELDERLY

REFLECTION:

As we grow older,
time seems to be standing still and yet to have flown by!
"Where have all those years gone?"
The mind seems young, but not the body.
Yet there is still much to do.

PETITION:

Virgin Mother Mary,
you lived years alone without your Son,
Jesus and your husband, Joseph.
You must have felt loneliness too,
remembering the happy days in Nazareth.
Pray for me, please,
when loneliness settles on me.
Teach me patience and hope and faith
that God will one day
restore the grace of youth with the joy of heaven.

God's Word and Practice

GOD'S WORD:

Athirst is my soul for God, the Living God.
When shall I go and behold the Face of God?
(Ps 42:3)

PRACTICE:

Let us imitate each day
the example of Saint Paul who said:
"Draw your strength from the Lord and His Mighty Power."
While we live,
God still has a work, however humble, for us to do for Him.

Regina Coeli

O Queen of heaven, rejoice! Alleluia.
For He whom you did merit to bear, Alleluia.
Has risen, as He said, Alleluia.
Pray for us to God, Alleluia.
Rejoice and be glad, O Virgin Mary. Alleluia.
For the Lord has risen indeed. Alleluia.

LET US PRAY
O God, Who by the resurrection of Your Son,
Our Lord Jesus Christ,
has given joy to the whole world,
grant, we beseech You,
that through the intercession of the Virgin Mary, His Mother,
we may attain the same joys of eternal life.
Through the same Christ Our Lord.
Amen.
