You knew the terror and sorrow of King Herod's madness....
You loved your cousin Elizabeth....
You had John the disciple Jesus loved as your friend....
You took John as a son....
Take us as your daughters and sons....
You watched your son tormented and suffering....
You were there on that hill as Jesus died....
You were with the people who placed his body in the tomb....
You saw Jesus alive again in the glory of Easter....
You prayed with his friends after he ascended to our Father....
You left us no trace of your last years on this earth....
There are many who say they have seen you since then....
We pray with them, people especially devoted to you....
We pray with those who cannot accept their stories....
We pray for the poor, who call you their Queen....
We pray for the oppressed, who call you their Hope....
We pray for justice for your sisters, all women of the world....
We pray for our nation, that calls you our patroness....
We pray for our pope, who commends our world to your care....
We believe you were born free from all evil and sin....
We believe God has given you the fullness of everlasting life....
We believe that your son Jesus is the son of God....
We believe in His promise that His Spirit is always among us....
Pray with us, Mother of Jesus....
