LIBBIE's NOTE: Some of the writing on this page is a little disjointed. That's because this section is still under construction - with many spaces to be replaced by images of Minmay, Minmay, and Minmay... just as soon as I get the will-power to draw all the images planned for this page ^^;;
This section is a shrine setup for my favourite anime character, Lynn Minmay.
It was also set up to annoy the heck out of my (real) brother heh heh heh...
Minmay didn't save the world piloting a Valkyrie fighter.. [*cue SD Minmay sitting in an SD Valkyrie fighter*]
And she didn't save the world as one of the commanders in the bridge of the SDF-1.. [*cue SD Minmay in Misa's uniform*]
Instead, armed with a golden voice, Minmay sang for the victory of Earth and the SDF-1 over the Zentradi.. [*cue SD Minmay singing*]
In the year 1999, an alien starship crashed on Earth. This craft was later restored, and named "Super Dimensional Fortress-1 Macross" (SDF-1 for short). Then, in the year 2009, a race of giant aliens named the "Zentradi" launched an attack to reclaim the SDF-1.
Lynn Minmay was just a normal civilian. A high school girl, working at her uncle's restaurant, she dreamt of becoming an actress or a singer. That is, until she got caught in the middle of the battle between Earth and the Zentradi forces. Trapped in deep space aboard the SDF-1 when it folded into space, Minmay's dreams where about to come true. After winning the Miss Macross beauty contest, Minmay became a singing sensation that would inspire the people on Earth and those aboard the SDF-1, and enchant the Zentradi. More than just an idol singer, Minmay's songs of love and hope was the Earth's and SDF-1's salvation from the devastating fire power of the Zentradi forces.
This is the first image of Minmay for the Minmay Shrine, and my submission into Monthly Bishoujo Art for September 1999.
I'm not sure if the colours of those clothes are correct. I had to make them up because looking for a good variety of Minmay pictures was really difficult. The original picture I based it on was blue and white.

The first time I saw Minmay, was the first time I got sucked into anime. I just turned on the TV one morning, and what do I see? - a bunch of Zentradi playing with a Minmay doll. It was so cute! ^_^ [*cue Minmay doll*]
That was halfway through the first part of Robotech (the U.S. version of Macross). Unfortunately Robotech hasn't been re-aired since then, so I didn't catch the start of Robotech or the Miss Macross contest *rats*
Actually, I don't know much about the real Lynn Minmay. Apparently, Robotech Minmay was portrayed more annoying and childish than the Macross Minmay. Which makes me wonder why she ever became my favourite character ^^;;
The movie "Do You Remember Love?" is like a summary of the main plot of Macross (the first part of Robotech). In the movie, Minmay is portrayed as much more fragile, much more innocent.

But poor Minmay is a tragic heroine. Although Minmay's music brought love to the people who heard it, it did not bring her one true love - Hikaru Ichijo (aka Rick Hunter). [*cue SD picture of Misa sticking her tongue out as she hugs Hikaru, and Minmay crying*]
"Hikaru, you jerk! How could you ditch Minmay and run off with Misa Hayase (Lisa Haynes)?"
