A

Alcyone - the goddess of the sea, the moon, calm and tranquility. She brings life to death and death to life.

Alphito - the goddess of barley flour, destiny, and the moon. She is also known as the hag of the mill and the lady of the nine heights.

Amphictyonis - the goddess of wine and friendship between nations.

Amphitrite - the goddess of the sea and wife of Poseidon.

Anteros - The god of unrequited love. He would punish those who did not return the love of others. Lesser known than his brother Eros, he is another son of Aphrodite.

It is said that Eros remained childlike for quite sometime. Aphrodite, worried that Eros would stay that way forever, was told that "love" cannot grow unless it is returned - "love" needs a companion. Thus, Aphrodite gave Eros "returned love" in the form of a brother.

Asclepius - god of healing. He is the son of Apollo and Coronis. Taught the art of healing by Cheiron, Zeus killed him as a punishment for bringing a dead man back to life.

Astraea - goddess of justice; daughter of Zeus and Themis (goddess of human rights).

Ate - goddess of infatuation, mischief and guilt; she would mislead men into ruinous actions.

Aurora - Also known as Eos. Goddess of the dawn; daughter of Hyperion and Theia, sister to Helios and Selene.
