Chicago Vacation 2003

June 4-10, 2003

Mark had a seminar in Oakbrook, Illinois and his boss suggested that I go along and make it a vacation. Sound advice indeed!

Despite lack of thorough planning, we had a wonderful time in Chicago.

Thanks to Ryan Stevens, who agreed to house-sit for us and watch over our cats while we were gone, we had no worries the week I was in Chicago.

We arrived in Chicago on June 4, just in time to check in at our hotel, the Red Roof Inn (not too far from the Magnificent Mile). For dinner, we went to Carson's (where we had our first official Chicago-style Ribs). Afterward, we walked around to get our bearings. We walked up to the Chicago River along Michigan Avenue and saw for the first time the breathtaking architecture. We took a picture of the Tribune Tower, which turned out good, considering it was nighttime.
