Our 2002 Vacation

Canada and New York

27 June - 9 July

 We spent 2 weeks in Canada and New York. This is the first time for the both of us to be in Canada. For New York, the last time Mark was in Dunkirk was 14 years ago! The week we spent in New York was a week-long reunion for my mother-in-law’s relatives. Most of the descendants of her parents Arley and Michael visited us. We even had a chance to meet Great Aunts Maude (Roger’s aunt) and Mildred (Kathy’s aunt). The 4th of July was the biggest reunion of the week (we were expecting 57 people at the cottage) - 48 people were there!

Day 1 - Niagara Falls
Day 2 - Goat Island and Dunkirk, NY
Day 3 - Our first game of Croquet and the Cottage
Day 4 - Uncle Cliff’s Church and Chautauqua
Day 5 - Back at the Cottage
Day 6 - Back to Goat Island and Niagara Falls
Day 7 - Midway Park and Jet-Skiing at Chautauqua Lake
Day 8 - The biggest reunion of the week! Aunts Mildred and Maude and some of their descendants! Deb Cliver’s Birthday
Day 9 - Kathy’s Birthday, Lakewood, last night at the cottage
Day 10 - Back to Canada and on to Toronto!
Day 11 - Downtown Walking Tour as suggested in our Toronto Guidebook
Day 12 - The Ontario Royal Museum, finished the Downtown Walking Tour and walked through Chinatown
Day 13 - Our last day of our vacation ;(
