The Family File
Things have changed much and quickly since Maurice (hereafter referred to as Himself) and I graduated from the
University of North Carolina at Wilmington. (a wonderful educational opportunity close to the beach in Wilmington, North Carolina). We have left our port town for the rural regions of Fredericksburg, VA, where himself is employed as a Systems Administrator and I am home schooling our children. It's an abrupt change from the students life to "full time mom", but we are all adjusting and hope to have lots of fun on this new adventure.![]()
The kids portion of our family consists of Caitlin, a lively and intelligent 8, and Himself's munchkins, who aren't really munchkins any more. Lyssa, our 14 and Haley, our 12. Lyssa has joined us to spend her high school career in the insanity of our home.
This is the first time we've been together, and we all seem to be adjusting well. Here's a preview of our Hurricane Floyd Poster Children entry from the front porch of our home during "the hurricane that tried to drown North Carolina, September 1999"
Just some other pictures of the hurricane action. The "Beasty Truck" with its 36 inch wheels about 12 hours before Floyd ever showed his face on the coast. When all was said and done Mother Nature had given us a three foot pool in the back yard. Other than that, it was just annoying.
Himself and our friend Tom who camped out with us when the "pond" near his apartment turned into a "lake". Take a look at
Tom Ruyle's odd little webpage which may be one of the reasons we to like hang out with him. He's as strange as the rest of us.
Lyssa's passions in life are Anne Rice ANYTHING, Ireland and Music that Parents can't Stand. She has also been busy drawing. Please see the
LYSSA page for examples of her work and some of her favorite things.![]()
The wedding and honeymoon were more than any of us imagined they would be... well, the honeymoon was only witnessed by two of us, but it was fabulous, trust me.
I'll be posting wedding pictures and shots from our honeymoon to
Charleston, South Carolina. There has been so much going on since we got back, I haven't had time to get pictures developed, much less posted, but it will be soon, I promise.... stay tuned.
