This is the cornet Louis played while in the Waifs Home for Boys.
The horn was given to him when he left the home. He returned it once he had made
enough money to purchase a replacement, and others learned to play on it.
Today it is in the Jazz Museum in the old
US Government Mint Building in New Orleans.
