Kahlua Brownies
Ingredients
1 cup butter
1 cup granulated sugar
3/4 Cup cocoa, sifted
3 Large eggs, separated
1 cup all purpose flour
1 1/2 tsp. baking powder
1 1/2 tsp. vanilla
1 tbs. Kahlua liqueur
Icing
1/2 cup butter, softened
1 cup icing sugar, sifted
2/3 cup cocoa, sifted
1 tsp. vanilla
2 tbs. Kahlua liqueur
1 to 2 tbs. hot coffee
Instructions
Preheat oven to 350 degrees F. Brownies: Melt butter and combine sugars and cocoa in a large bowl. Beat in eggs one at a time. Sift flour and baking powder into mixture and stir. Add vanilla and Khalua. Pour batter into a greased and floured 9 X 13-inch baking pan. Bake 25-30 minutes. The center should still be soft and it may drop slightly on cooling. Let cool before icing. Icing: Combine ingredients with an electric mixture until icing is very fluffy. Spread over cooled brownies. Makes 40 servings.
