	The Governor Kavanagh Council is located next to the historic St.Denis Church in North Whitefield, Maine. St.Denis is the second oldest Catholic Church in New England.The Grand Knight for 2000-2001 is ALAN PARKER. Governor Kavanagh Council was founded in 1909 through the efforts of the pastor Rev. Thomas J. Nelligan.. It is named after Edward Kavanagh, who was a governor of the State of Maine. The Governor Kavanagh Council works closely with the St.Denis Parish in North Whitefield, providing funds for various projects, members being active participants in their parish. etc.
