to Hold A Seance}

Seances can last for hours, when you (youself) and/or your group are beginners atit. You might want to start the opening with a short invocation of divine blessing and protection.(Just incase you run into an evil spirit.)

Sit quietly and try to let your mind become still, together with the "atmosphere" of the circle, you or members of your group may fall into a light trance. (Light trance may not be recognized, by the person or by others. Nobody should ever try to go into deep trance. Given a contact deep trance may in some dircumstances cause harm to you and/or your group.)

The leader of the circle should remain watchful and fully aware of the proceedings. During the sitting, those who feel impelled to speak should do so without reflection. ("Guides" are spirits who look after the circle or particular member(s); you will get to know them by degrees. They should be vigilant as to the spirits who gain admission, and they will help and advise to the best of their ability. But always remember they aren't all-knowing, and final responsibility remains with the incarnate leader.(Also, never tease or taunt a spirit in any way, this can be harmful to your health, evil spirits can enter as well as the good ones.)

Holding hands will give you extra energy in the circle at any time, ask for a simple linking of hands for two minutes or more. To increase the available energy you can also use: Incense (joss sticks or cones) Suitable song, Red light (experiment with blue, too.) Close the Circle simply and graciously, make sure that every one returns to normal consciousness.
