John Willoughby enlisted in the Union Army, on February 15, 1864 at Carbondale Station, Illinois, was assigned to 'E' Company 81st Ill. Volunteer Infantry Regiment, Union Army, transferred to 'D' Company 58 Ill. Volunteer Infanty Regiment, summer of 1865, somewhere in Mississippi or Alabama?. Mustered out of the 58th in Montgomery Alabama, 1 April 1866.
