OBITUARIES Monday, June 8, 1948 "Paducah Sun Democrat" WILLIAM GRIFFIN William Griffin, 81, died at 4:45 a.m. Saturday at his home, 436 Ashcraft Avenue, after an illness of several weeks. He was a member of the East Baptist Church. Mr. Griffin was general foreman of the Cohankus Manufacturing Company here for several years. He retired when the company ceased operations here. Survivors include four sons, Ernest, Woodrow, Homer and Roy Griffin, all of Paducah; three daughters, Mrs. Tom Yates and Miss Mary Griffin, Paducah, and Mrs. Corinne Jenson, Racine, Wis.; a sister Mrs. Lula Lawson, Mayfield; 14 grandchildren and three great-grandchildren. Funeral services will be held at 3 p.m. today at the residence with the Rev. T. J. Tichenor officiating. Burial will be in Oak Grove Cemetary. The body will be at the residence. Lindsey will be in charge of funeral arrangements. Wednesday, October 31, 1990 "Paducah Sun News" WOODROW GRIFFIN Woodrow W. Griffin, 73, of 330 Lakeview Drive, died at 3 p.m. Tuesday in Paducah. Mr. Griffin was a retired riverboat captain from MG Transport. He was a member of Lone Oak First Baptist Church and Masonice Lodge No. 127 F&AM. He is survived by his wife, Mae Belle Womble Griffin, two daughters, Nora Hester of West Paducah and Kitty Lee Steel of Paducah; a stepson, Kevin Courtney of Paducah; two stepdaughters, Jane Williams and Susan McClure, both of Paducah, four grandchildren and five stepgrandchildren. Mr Griffin is preceded in death by his first wife, Catherine McCormick Griffin. Services will be at 1 p.m. Thursday at Roth Funeral Chapel with Dr. Willis Henson officiating. Burial will be in Mount Kenton Cemetary. Friends may call at the funeral home after 5 p.m. today. MRS. JENSEN, 76, PADUCAH, DIES Mrs. Corrine Jensen, 76, died at 7:35 a.m. Tuesday in Parkview Convalescent Center. A resident of 132 Ella Munal Court, she was a former employee of the Star Laundry and Cleaners. She was a member of the Baptist Tabernacle. Mrs. Jensen leaves two brothers, Homer Griffin and Woodrow Griffin, both of Paducah; three nieces, Mrs. Leslie May, Mrs. Ellen Hatten and Mrs. Cherry Hankins, all of Paducah; and five nephews. Funeral services are scheduled at 1:30 p.m. Thursday at the Lindsey Funeral Chapel. The Rev. Joe Gardner will officiate. Burial will be in Oak Grove Cemetery.
