Mobile Office
Work
on wheels.
Back
in September 1995, Microsoft was due to hold a convention in Paris. The
company's chairman, Bill Gates, wanted a vehicle from which he could keep
in permanent touch with his staff in the USA. No such vehicle existed.
So Citroën rose to the challenge and transformed an Evasion into an
office on wheels.
The
Marque called on France Télécom and Siemens Nixdorf to provide
the communications equipment and computer systems. And on 4 September Bill
Gates was able to step into his mobile office: a Citroën Evasion equipped
with two GSM hands-free mobile phones, a personal computer, a laser printer
- and even a desk! |
