Please note that I did not type up this transcript an the spelling errors are not mine. Personally, I don't know why, for the life of me, people do that. It's just a pet peeve of mine; I find it quite annoying. Sorry, all of you who do that, but I just had to let you all know.
Kevin was on 102.7 Kiis FM in Los Angeles and here is the interview he had with the dj, Valentine.
Valentine: Ladies and gentleman, from the BSB, Kevin Richardson in the studio
Kevin: Hey Whats up?
Val: How r ya brotha?
Kev: Im good how r ya?
Val: Lookin Good man!! I cant even remember the last time we saw each other. Cuz the first time we met, Ill bring you back years ago, at a radio station in Dallas, Texas and if you remember correctly this was very funny and I wish I had the tape laying around here somewhere. We did a song called ?No Panties Thursday.?
Kev: Oh yeah, OK-
Val: Do you remember that?
Kev: yeah
Val : Remember how that went? ? No Panties Thursday, c?mon now Everybody?(singin to tune of Everybody)
Kev: And then I did a little ad-lib
Val: Yup
Kev: It was kinda off-beat
Val: No no it was perfect
Kev: All the fellas were raggin on me. They were callin me ?No Rhythm Kevin? after that
Val: They did not did they? I caused that controversy in your life?
Kev: Its all good now (laughing)
Val: How does it feel to be you? Right now? Cuz youre married now? That?s changed for ya? How?d that marriage thing work out?
Kev: Its great, umm?We?ve been dating on and off for 8 years now so it was just kind of another chapter in my life.
Val: How did you meet her?
Kev: I met her at Walt Disney World at the cafeteria.
Val: Was she ordering food and you saw her?
Kev: She was sittin down with some friends and umm?a buddy of mine came up to me and said to me, u need to introduce yourself to her so evidently she was checkin me out herself so he kinda gave me the green light cuz Im a shy kind of guy, cant just go up and ask ladies out. So I went up and introduced myself. Later on, a couple of days later, asked her for her number, asked if she was interested in going out. That was 8 years ago.
Val: And it worked!
Kev: I mean we?ve had our ups and downs
Val: Ay man, brotha, who hasn?t?
Kev: We?ve broken up on and off, with the traveling and stuff.
Val: All the good relationships have their ups and downs
Kev: Oh yeah-
Val: Cuz the passion its so great, its so negative, its happy, its down, everythings sad, down but that?s what makes the relationship so incredible. That passion when you come together. Now Ive been married for two years.
Kev: Congratulations-
Val: Yeah so uh?let me tell ya sumthin bout marriage (in low voice)
Kev: (in low voice) uh huh.
Val: Let me tell you, between you and me. I got this book called ?101 Great Nights of Sex?
Kev: ohh?(in reall low voice) uh huh.
Val: The way it works, you go back and forth each night. Page one- what he does for her.
Kev: OK
Val: Page 2- What she does for me
Kev: OK
Val: Now we got this bout two years ago- were still on page 2!!
Kev: Ohhh?
Val: Yeah , Im bummin
Kev: Wow- you bummin, you enjoyin each page.
Val: No page 1 and she goes ?Put that book away?.
Kev: whats up with dat?
Val: Whats up with dat, yeah?..I dunno man? Hey you wanna take phone calls and stuff?
Kev: Sure
Val: OK Kevin R. sittin in studio here from the Backstreet Boys. Whopper was the clue as to who was here. We worked long and hard on that thing. U eat from BK all the time?
Kev: We eat fast food constantly
Val: Whoppers man! Those commercials are funny by the way. We gotta talk bout that and the music that?s comin out now. And any of the stuff that?s comin up . U doin any actin?
Kev: Umm plannin on doin some reading and stuff
Val: U got that look today
Kev: The look?

Val: Number 1 hit music station, Kiis fm!! Ready to go on air? What are you doin man? Don?t slack! (starts an argument as a joke)
Kev: Sorry man, I came in here as your celebrity guest ?
Val: I know but I-
Kev: and youre treatin me like a stepchild.Whats up with that?
Val: No Im not treatin you like a stepchild. Im just sayin that when you go on the radio- you gotta have those head phones on.
Kev: Im READY!
Val: (keeps pressing on) I mean I appreciate you signin the autographs for the youngsters bro-
Kev: Im ready. Lets GO!
Val: Whats your deal? Whats your deal man? You got issues?
Kev-- dude I mean-
Val: Did you come in here with issues or sumthin? I can walk out- I have no probs with walkin out now.
Kev: You decieve the audience and play some record that?s not even our new record- (Note: Kev is referring to Kiis FM playing an old BSB song, Missing You ?constantly)
Val: ok alright- yeah this is ok. This is going back to last week when I played a world premiere of what I thought was gonna be your next single which is about 4 weeks away
Kev: Our REAL fans out there, they called you up and they told you- whats up with dat?
Val: Look, you wanna take phone calls and I walk out? Is that what you want? Huh?
Kev: I can handle it better than you can-
Val:You think you can do this better?
Kev: I think so ? yeah-
Val: U know how many celebs have thought they could do my job better?
Kev: Well I used to practice this at home when I was a little child.
Val: Oh you would?
Kev: Yeah I used to fantasize about being a dj. So gimme a shot.
Val: All right, lets hit the phone lines. Youre on caller..
Kev: Kewl?Uh caller ? Hello?-
Val:Oh oops I have to press that button (he messed up on purpose)
Kev: There ya go- Hello? Caller?
Val: Go ahead caller?(silence) ummm well I guess-
Kev: Ahhh
Val: (messes up again) Oh I have to press that button again- Sorry-
Kev: Well there ya go. Youre settin me up arent you?
Val: Im not settin you up! Hello Kiis fm!!
Caller: Hello
Val: Youre on with Kev. Now goodbye, Im leavin!
Kev laughs) Hey!!Whats your name!
Caller: Im fine (stumbles) Im Alexandra
Kev: Hi Alexandra
Caller: Well I have a question..is cuz..I live close by L.A. I wanted to know?Cuz where..cuz Ive never met you guys and I just wanna know ?when is the next concert you might have in L.A. or somewhere here?
Kev: ok our- (laughs) now be patient?Were gonna drop our single probably in October, our next album in November and our tour will premiere in the U.S. probably in February. So we?ll be swinging to L.A. around that time so were gonna be swinging here doing some promotion- radio promotion before the record comes out and I guess we?ll stop by and see Valentine if he?s cool.
Val: Whatever man-Uhh Lets take another caller.
Kev: (laughs)
Val: Whatever..Youre on Kiis- Yeah ? talk to him or whateverrrrr
Caller 2: Hi this is Vanessa from Paris Ummm
Kev: Hey Vanessa!
Caller: Kevin remember u had a solo and you didn?t have lyrics for it?
Kev: OH are you talkin bout the song we did on tour or?
Caller: OH I couldn?t get tickets to make it but I believe so-- you did a piano solo on it?
Kev: Yeah yeah that?s the song I wrote for my father and I actually think Ive decided just to keep that an instrumental..
Caller: Oh really? Yeah cuz I was thinkin about trying to get lyrics to you(background screaming is heard)
Kev: Whos that back there?
Caller : Oh that?s my little sister
Kev: Oh kewl..Hey liittle sister..
Caller: Umm but I was trying to get lyrics to you and I didn?t know where to send them
Kev: Well you can send them to Valentine right here at the station
Val: Oh great..Nice going Kevin!
Kev: Since me and him are big buddies now?
Val: Yeah uh huh..Right- its gonna be good(sarcasm)
Kev: So you know he is going let me run the show
Val: Send lyrics to me?
Kev: Yeah send em to Valentine!!!..
Val: Yeah send away
Kev: Heyyy we can even have a contest!!
Val: Yeah we can do that?Were gonna have a contest for lyrics..How bout that?
Kev: Definitely..that?ll be kewl?and Val will go through all the lyrics that come in.
Val: Yeah right every single one of them- YEAH..uh huh..
Kev: and he?ll be my personal liason
Val : Yeah uh huh..Yes every SINGLE one(sarcastically) Absolutley
Kev: Im willin..Ure not?
Val: No its not an issue of willing or wants to but now youre setting me up! Youre putting me in this situation Where Im- you realize how impressive?
Kev: Send all your lyrics to Valentine!!!
Val: that?s not necessary?
You realize how BIG you are across the country? Know whats gonna happen ? Heres whats gonna happen-
Kev: Yeah
Val: Well that is going to be printed in Teen Beat magazine, Teen magazine. Its gonna be all over the Internet by tomorrow- All round the world!!Some little kid in Sweden is gonna send me lyrics I cant read and Im gonna have lyrics all around me and?
Kev: Its gonna be great?
Val: But actually the great part is actually u know what- ladies usually enclose pictures in there don?t they? Ohhh well all right Kevin Richardson in the studio!!! Great idea!
Kev: You told me you were gonna push buttons!
Val: Its not easy is it?
Kev: Nahhh
Val: U gonna come over here and push buttons and gonna go (makes a weird sound)
Kev: If that was a keyboard, it would be all good.
Val: Oh stop it!! I can dance. I can find Middle C.
Kev: (laughs)
Val: I can do that! Theres a rumour going around that you guys are breaking up? Not true right?
Kev: Not TRUE!!
Val: Where do these things get started? People just put em out on the Internet?
Kev: WelI I think cuz AJ uhh. Was doin some stuff for VH1?s Save the Music,
Val: Rite..
Kev: And Howie and I have been reading for films and Brians been producing and I mean we allow each other space to do things, the freedom to grow in other ways and that?s a good thing.
Val: Now theres gonna be a time- years from NOW down the road and you guys wont be together- but you think those friendships will always last?
Kev: Always, yeah I do..
Val: Whats the one thing you?ve learned bout life bout yourself that you can share?
Kev: Ummm probly that you might think that your way is the right and BEST way- and you should stop and when youre in a team- you should listen to your teammates and your friends or whatever and between the five of us, we may not always agree but we always come out with a solution that works
Val: Theres also a rumour going around, your record rep just told me, Im not gonna say her name and get her in trouble, that you actually taught ballroom dancing for a while- in Florida. Is this true?
Kev: Yeah I taught like chacha maringis(sp?), sumba, the hustle waltz all that stuff in Orlando..in 91..I cant remember much of it though
Val: See that?s ok cuz right now on the Internet we have that camera hooked up at www.kiisfm.com and what im gonna do, im gonna walk around to your side..
Kev: Uh huh?
Val: And Im gonna teach you a dance..
Kev: oh uh huh?
Val: U and I are about to dance
Kev: oh kewl
Val: Kevin Richardson of BSB and Valentine are about to dance..

Val: No Im Irish by the way
Kev: Oh ok.. u gonna teach me the- oh ok ? the cloghopper song
Val: (puts Irish music on) Im comin over there! Alright now a little dancing lesson now R u ready? Try this?try that(screams at Kev)!!!..TRY IT!!! Cmon
Kev: (laughs) Well ok but do it one more time!
Val: (is dancing with music on)
Kev: Youre makin it up- U did it different twice.
Val: Im NOT makin it up!!
Kev: Allright?.(dances )
Val: Yes ladies?How bout that? Kevin Richardson doin? a little Irish Stepdancing!!!
Kev: (in most adorable Irish accent) Ayyymm Irish!! Aymmm Iresshh!!It?s a leprechaun!!
Val: U like the lucky charms ayy?
Kev: I do I do
Val: They grrreat aunt they?
Kev: They grrreat
Val: Hey man thanks for comin by today
Kev: Aigghht thank you..
Val: So the 1st record- the release is comin out in 4 weeks?
Kev: Yup
Val: When?s the album comin out?
Kev: November!!
Val: November!!
Val: Kevin from BSB in studio!
Kev: Thank you guys for all your love!! We?ll see ya!!
Val: Hey practice those Irish stepdancing moves!
Kev: I will!
Val: so next time you come in?
Kev: Will do that

Val: Oh man dude if you worked that in?How kewl would that be seriously..
Kev: Our first video will be like the river dance(laughs)
Val: Oh yeah!! That?ll be like a sign to me..I?ll be like ?Oh I taught him how to stepdance? River dance!!

Val: Hey Kev lemme ask you a question?? Now that you?ve had this chance to do some stepdancing with Val?How do you feel about Valentine?Inside your conscious soul? What grabs you about valentne?
Kev: Well he?s a fellow married man so..We share that in common and feel like hes got a good heart. ..Hes a good family man..(Now in Irish accent) and hes an Irish! And taught me how to dance and so I love him very much (laughs) It fabulous!!
Well that was the interview!! It was awesome !!! Val was genuinely pleased with Kev..Afterwards, he kept talking about how a great guy Kevin was!!!!
