: : Hmmm...they freeze your computer instantly?
: : Never had a freezeup loading a midi
: : into Media Player while running Internet Explorer and Netscape Inbox at the same time.

: Yeah,MIDI's kill me. It's JUST MIDI files too,I can run WAVs,VOCs and MP3s no problem.

: : Do you have at least 32 Megabytes
: : (Anything higher and you shouldn't
: : have any problems) and at least
: : a Pentium class CPU? (100 MHZ)
: : And are you running Internet Explorer
: : or Netscape or another browser?

: Let me see here.......I'm running a Packard Bell with Windows 98 and internet explorer 5.0 and 40MB of RAM. I think it's a 286..er..it's SOMETHING that ends in an 86.O-o
: The system info says the CPU is a Pentium Pro (This piece of CRAP has a pentium O_O;; Geh..that's not possible..)
: It's outdated by about..hmmn...a year?

Your problem would be...IT"S A PACK BELL!!!! THey are PIECES OF CRAP!! I should know, I used to use one...and it's outdated by FOUR years!

: : Anyway here's what I do to minimize
: : the chance of lockup until I can upgrade.
: : First upon Windows 98 loading up,
: : I immediately close all programs that
: : aren't vital to Windows operation so
: : I'm just running the bare minimum
: : programs to keep Windows running.

: Yup Yup...I do this too.

: : Second I pause Task Scheduler.
: : Third I use Internet Explorer
: : instead of my Ameritech Netscape
: : browser. And if I open Netscape
: : Messenger and keep it minimized.
: : Finally I do a disk cleanup every once
: : in a while to keep the Virtual Memory
: : in the green zone.

: Gotta do that myself very soon..

: : If none of this helps then you may
: : have to do like me and think about upgrading.
: : It's expensive but the last upgrades
: : I've gotten so far have been WELL worth it.
: : (Now if only that friend of ours would
: : get back to us on upgrading one more time!!!
: : Then I can run my scanner and ZSNES again!!!)

: Upgrade? I wish ^^;;
