: Here's the new news so far...
: I've got a letter into Wizard: The Guide To Comics asking them to contact those involved with the show and ask what they think.
: I've a letter into Zelda Headquarters, asking about anything with Zelda's sexuality.
: I'm going to write an article about it for an e-zine that is put out every so often, explaing both sides of the coin (equally, I hope), inviting people to stop by and actually read what is here so they can decide on their own what they think after actually have read the storys, and inviting them to send me their own opinions.
: Stay tuned, folks!
Is that quite nessisary? Good Lord on a bicycle! I've never seen this much commotion over a series of fanfics before!
And before you even think of pinning all this on Mark, you should know that he is not wholy responsible for the relationship between Lana/Zelda.
Let me tell you about the first time it was brought up at all: It was my first trip into the #Captain_N chatroom. Mark emediatly greated me, which surprised me since I had never been in the chat before He then asked me the same question he was asking everyone else. The question was... out of Lana/Kevin/Kristen/Simon/Samus/Zelda/Link- who was the fav couple.
I emediatly said Link/Zelda. I'm not sure who, but I think it was Sparty, said "Samus and Simon are a couple?"
Mark: No.
Me: Although Lana/Zelda would be interesting.
And there you have it, it wasn't Mark who started it, it was ME! Don't even pin this on him. But if that's not good enough for you...
Several chats later, I forgot who, came in and informed Mark of Zelda's hand resting on Lana's breast. Mark emediatly left to verify this. Sometime durring this, Sparty left the chat.
Me: The truth comes out!
The others in the room and I then took to talking among ourselves of this. I really hate to break it to most people, but I did most of the pushing towards the current Lana/Zelda status durring that time. The others did pick it up.
Mark returned, and proclaimed that not only was Zelda's hand there, but the glove was off. I then started hounding Mark with the Lana/Zelda thing, followed by the others.
Sparty returned, and we told him. He said NOTHING against it... so he's not pure from blame either. In fact, he even supported us when others came in.
With that settled, Mark asked if he should mention it in the movie or in his Season5 episode. I said both. We both agreed that I would rewrite my Season5 episodes to fit this in.
And please do not even concider saying Mark is pushing it in too many episodes. He pushes it less often than you think, you only see it so much because these episodes are coming faster than on TV.
I would like to point out that you guys are clinging to the fact that it was a children's show... but you're forgetting that most Captain N fans are now graduated from High School and attending college of one form or another. We grow, why can't the show?
And last I checked, even Star Trek got a chance to grow, but you guys are treating him link Gene Roddenberry. Sorry, but you guys are not NBC, and I'm not Harlan Elison... even after the number of rewrites I've done.
But concider this- Lana doesn't care diddly about religion... why aren't you guys giving a ho about her abuse of religious practises? And hasn't it occured to you that if she doesn't give a ho about religion, she's certainly not going to flip over an aspect of life rooted in religion. Yeah, yeah, God said no gay relationships... But Lana isn't about to let something printed in a book she hates stop her.
Zelda may be a problem since she does have religion, but that's not the point.
The point is, you guys are being hypocrites about this.
Hypocrites, every one of you.
Go ahead flame me. At least that much less will go in Mark's direction, and it's no less than I should get.
