Room in Forest Palace: LttP

I am well off in teh forest palace except for one room. THere are two statues, one movable. Two errr....uuhhhhh gibdos? The mummies. And two blue jellyfish lookin things that sometimes turn electric. THere is an enclosed short path that leads to a switch door. A skull pot blocks the way, and reveals a switch that does not stay down. I put the statue on it, but I can't get around it then. How can I access the next room, and how can I get to Mothula. I can't get past the statue of it in the extreme North Western Skeleton Forest.
