That's possible. The flute certainly does resemble the Ocarina of Time, but I don't think they're one and the same. Although it would make sense for the Ocarina to be somewhere out of Agahnim's reach like that...

Just a little side note, but when you say the Cataclysmic war, are you refering to the Great Cataclysm? If so, I think the Great Cataclysm is the time of LttP. If not, never mind. ;)
I think the next game will either be the rumored return to Koholint, about the pre-Toot war (there are certainly plenty of heroes to explore there, and at times before that), or about the time after Toot, when Ganon might have gotten the other Triforces.
