While there are no Zappers, or Power Pads or brains-in-bottles, I think this movie is as close as you can get to Captain N or a Captain N movie and not have a Zapper and Power Pad. (But don't take my word for it. See it for yourself. If the special effects don't dazzle you, the plot will!) Heck it's as close as you can get to Captain N and NOT be animated!!! If you've got a yen for science fiction, gratuitous violence (I don't but the movie was so good I didn't even notice...that much. Okay I'm lying. Sorry. Can't blame me for trying?), superhuman if not X Men-ish powers, and the age old plot of apocolyptic worlds whose only hope is a reluctant hero who doesn't even believe all of this is real, then PLEASE go see the Matrix! Which brings about the question: What is the Matrix? See for yourself! (Or maybe you won't see...confused? Not as confused as the hero was before and during his discover of "The Truth".) Even I have to admit, the Matrix is exponentially better than the Super Mario Brothers Movie. (Hmmm...there are similariies to SMB: TM as well......)
