: : The doctor has a collection of thoughts on why Hyrule is so different from game to game. Remember something in history class about a place on Earth once known as Pangea? And keep in mind that new land is generated everytime an underwater volcano erupts. And what about earthquakes? They change the shape of land, too. And villages and cities come and go with the passage of time. Plus there's "westward expansion" as the populations grow. Maybe the Hylians made changes in the land and water to better suit town and temple constructions. (How do you think we got the Panama Canal in the real world?) Part of the difference could be point of view. I've noticed that A Link to the Past's map is similar to Ocarina of Times if you turn it ninety degrees clockwise. Death Mountain, Zora's River, Kakakiro Village and Lake Hylia are all in about the right spots. Everything EXCEPT Gerudo Valley, Kokiri Forest (Both surprisingly absent from ALTTP. Can you say "Deforestation"?) and the Lost Woods seem to match up on the map screen. (Do you suppose that the Temple of Time was destroyed after TOOT and the Master Sword moved to the "new" Lost Woods?")
Anyone with better or more likely explainations please, by all means let me know. A Game Doctor is only as good as his sources of information. I may not be Captain N, but I've tried to apply his remarkable talent for video game knowledge. And since knowledge is power, one should try to aqcuire as much "power" as possible as long as he properly applies the "wisdom" that goes with it. Only when confronted with a situation which calls for that "power" and "wisdom" can a person achieve true "courage". And that's the balance that the Triforce Prophecy spoke of. Try to apply this to your own lives and maybe you can be a hero in spirit. That's the Doctor's Advice and as a certain other Arcade used to say: That's Video Power!
