: : An LOZ: LA sequel? Just the mention of such a rumor has got my gears grinding! I'd like to hear all about it. Maybe if there is such a sequel it would make good subject matter for a Captain N fanfic or the series itself!
And being the science man I am, I can't help but offer you my hypothesis on how it could be possible for Koholint Island to exist once again. Remember how the Wind Fish mentioned that Koholint will be just a memory once he and Link woke up? That memory must be the real dream world? Picture this. Dreams are products of the subconscious mind right? (I must remind you, I'm not a REAL doctor, but I know a lot about the human body and its organs and systems.) What if the Wind Fish after many years had forgotten about Koholint and Link but the memory was still in the back of both their minds. Suppose for some reason the Wind Fish should fall asleep again, maybe by his own power or by a new threat, and that memory resurfaces in his dream just as Link (cooincidently) decides to go on another vacation or has a strange urge to return to some place he can't remember...something trying to surface in his memory but he can't grasp it... ...I can just hear (read?) Marin saying "Guess what, Link? We're back! And you didn't forget me after all this time!" INSTANT SEQUEL!!!
Also, here are some more thoughts. Isn't it funny how the nightmare creatures of Super Mario Bros. 2 surfaced in Link's Awakening? I'd sure like some input on how THAT'S possible (Other than it's another Golden Myamoto Moment! Even if it is!). Mario/Link crossover, or not, I hope to see a lot more of them. (Super Smash Bros. is a good start, but I'd like to see another Mario game where Kid Icarus makes an appeareance. (His only cameo was in the NES Tetris, when you beat level 9. Come on! Admit the guy with the wings, tunic, and sandals playing the violin looks familiar!) I swear Pit/Pitt has been neglected from the vid screen since Myths and Monsters. Samus has been getting all the glory, lately. Remember, the NES Metroid and Kid Icarus were parallel games in program archetecture (password, one life, select button summons a power item with a numerical limit, energy meter, run, jump, etc.). That's all I have to say about that.
Whoops, I'm getting off track. I digress. Back to Link's Awakening and SMB2. My two bits says that when Mario woke up, those nightmares had to go somewhere...maybe a dream limbo and since the Wind Fish's dream world was the nearest convinient dream world...nah...but then again...why not?
Anyone have better theories? I'm all ears. A scientist can learn a lot on his own, but he can't learn a billionth of what he can learn when he shares his thoughts with collegues. That's one part of the essence of Wisdom!

P.S. Some of you have got to be annoyed that I write such long letters. I don't want you to think I'm a chatterbox or anything. I just have a lot of thoughts and being the overachiever I am, I try to get them all in one message. I apologize for my lengthy opuses.
