: : Okay I want to have this clear. Is there diffrent persons in diffrent games? From the beginning there was only one of both, BUT, when the game series was on the rise Nintendo/someone else made up something that Link and Zelda in the diffrent games was not the same, as I thought. Do someone have a answer to this?
: There's no one absolute answer, as there are different theories about how the Links and Zeldas differ. One of the most common theories says that there are three Links; one in Zelda 5, one in Zelda 3 and Zelda 4, and another in Zelda 1 & Zelda 2. That theory also says that there are three Princess Zeldas, split up in the same way. A variation of the theory says that there's actually a fourth Zelda, who is in Zelda 2.
: Another populat theory says that the Link of Zelda 1, 2, 3, and 4 is the same person, and that Zelda 3 takes place after Zelda 2. That's a contradiction to Nintendo's published material that says Zelda 3 happens before Zelda 1, however, so I don't believe it.
: At any rate, you can be certain that the Link and Zelda in Zelda 5 are different from the characters in the other games.
I don't think it really matters who's in what game, as I personally believe the entire series is the story of what happened to the Triforce, not really about the Links and Zeldas.
Oh... btw- your second theory normally has the games in order 3-4-1-2. I've never listened to someone who actually believed Zelda3 came after Zelda2. And for the record- nowhere does it say Link didn't already know Zelda in Zelda1. It's often assumed... but you know what happens to people who assume something...
To make matters worse- there was this nice video clip released by Nintendo. I've seen screenshots from it, and have downloaded the avi from The Zelda Headquarters. Almost everywhere you see anything about it (or other such clips), it's says it's from Zelda64. I don't think so!!!
There are so many differences in the clip from the game, I think what Nintendo was actually doing was demonstrating the power of the N64 by showing what a Super Nintendo game would look like if it was in 3D (Square did the same thing with FF3/6). I'll tell you why-
Location, there was not a single location shown in the clip that is in the game. There is one that comes close, but not quite. Most of the locations are dark. What can actually be seen in some of the sceens looks like the underworld. In the clip (and screenshots shown in game magazines) of a pyramid- some accounts say it's an underground pyramid. Um... call me an idiot- but WHERE in Zelda64 is there an underground pyramid??? What I think it actually is (presuming it's actually a demonstration of Zelda3 as a 3D game) is Link standing on the Dark World Pyramid.
Action, not a single character in the clip moved the same as in Zelda64 (and all motions in the game was performed by the same motion capture actor).
Appearances, ugh! Nothing LOOKED the same. The stalfos didn't... the background didn't... LINK didn't. Sure he's got the same bangs to either side haircut... sure he's got the green jerkin and floppy cap... but that's it! In the clip, Link is a brunette. He's also wearing that ugly brown undershirt... and no pants! (Aren't you glad Nintendo FINALLY put some pants on our fav hero instead of sending him out like a true Scottman?) True kid Link didn't have pants... but this wasn't kid Link. This was a bigger than kid Link (but not as big as adult Link) holding a very ugly Hylian shield wannabe on his right arm. Trust me... it's ugly. Blue background, silver border, the crest of Hyrule... and an extra triangle below it... It's UGLY!
If you know your Zelda drawings- except for the haircut and shield- this one is basically Link from Zelda3 and 4 (sorry, but Link in Zelda1 and 2 WERE drawn differently).
And Nintendo was telling us that this was Zelda64??? I think they're confused! No wonder WE'RE confused!
