: : : : 3. Time Travel. We all have our own opinions on that. But if he were more lax on his rules, he could have opened the door to many new episode ideas.
: : : And a lot of time paradoxes. Forget it. I'm not gonna fall into the same trap as other shows do.
: : : I believe that when you go back in time and alter history, it's like rewinding a tape and taping over it. The program that used to be on the tape is gone. In other words, there are really no "alternate timelines", since only one timeline can exist per universe.
: : : Therefore, if you prevent your birth, kill yourself in the past, or do anything else to prevent your trip back in time, a paradox results, and the universe is destroyed.
: Look, I don't know much about physics and all, but I just have one question...
: Would the Universe allow itself to be destroyed just because one little thing was changed?
: Before you answer that, the answer is:
: NO.
: In the example of Cpt. N64, Kevin Keene is killed before becoming Game Master, correct? Easily gotten around. You see, it really wasn't Kevin that was to be the GM, but someone else. The prophecy put in a few misleading lines so that people that attacked the prophecy would completely miss the Hero and peg some innocent Nintendo-playing bystander. Granted, thats not what happened in the series, but the Universe is willing to fudge a few things for the continued existance of... oh, lets say... EVERYTHING.
Gee, that's exactly my point in Captain N 64; Kevin wasn't the "Chosen One"(for lack of better term), Chris was. THe second Prophecy detailed everything about him, a "Glove of Power", the POwer Glove; "A Mighty Team", the Neo N-Team; and "REstore Terra to it's rightful realm", he used teh Ultimate Warp Zone to send earth back to it's universe. CN 64 is an example of your point.
