  • Although Geographically located in the Northeast. Loei has many things in commom with the Northern region with numerous high hills and mountain ,wintry,foggy climate. It is the only province in Thailand which has the dubious distinction of the mercury plummeting to zero Celcius. Loei is 520 Kms. from Bangkok. 

Phra That Si Song Rak    

  • Phra That Si Song Rak  is located on the bank of Man River about one kilometer away from Amphoe Dan Sai. Constructed in 1560, it commemorates the mutual cooperation between Krung Sri Ayutthaya and Krung Sri Satana Kanahut (Vientiane). The structure is about 30 meters high and Its annual celebrations are attended by thousands of people.

Phu Rua National Park 

 

  • Phu Rua National Park  1,375 meters above sea level, is another majestic mountain with a vast pine-covered plateau on top. A cliff shaped like the bow of a Chinese junk juts out over the mountain. There are lodgings provided at the park and prior reservation is needed by contacting tel. 5790529, 5794842.
  • The Park is 59 kilometers from Loci or 9 kilometered from Amphoe Phu Rua.' There are buses leaving both from Loci and from Amphoe Lom Sak of Phetchabun to Phu Rua daily. 



  • Phetchabun is the province situated almost at the middle point of Thailand, 346 kms. from Bangkok. It occupies an overall area of 12,668 square kilometers, is administratively divided into 11 Amphoes : Muang, Lom Sak, Chon Daen, Lom Kao, Wichian Buri,Nong Phai, Si Thep, Bung Sam Phan, Wang Pong, Nam Nao and Khao Kho.
Wat Mahathat   
  • Wat Mahathat  This monastery has been existing along with Phetchabun town itself having a 3-meter-high Sukhothai style Phum Khao Binth design Pagoda. In March 1967, renovation was made by the Department of Fine Arts and several Buddha images of various periods were found.

B.N. Farm
  • B.N. Farm This farm is very famous about cultivation of cold weather vegetables, located on Lom Sak-Phitsanulok Road at km. 100 where a 3 km. access road branches off to the farm where visitors can make sightseeing and buying the farm produce.

Khao Kho  
  • Khao Kho  This mountain used to be an important battle field before. Within the area of this range outstanding spots that should be visited are general scenery,
  • Khao Kho Palace, Khao Kho Monument, viewing point at Itthi Base, Weapon Museum, Namtok Sidit ( waterfall ) etc. It is accessible via the same route of B.N. Farm and continue the trip for another distance of 26 kms. beyond B.N. Farm.

Namtok Sidit ( Waterfall )
Phu Hin Rong Kla National Park 
  • Phu Hin Rong Kla National Park This park is of tourist attraction as same as Khao kho, but different in details, i.e., the surroundding provides unusual sceneries. The area is of a large stone platform called "Lan Hin Taek" and "Lan Hin Pum", having long deep cracks in some places and occupies a vast area dotted with small shrubs throughout the entire area. There are ruins, originated by battles, left over to see such as, the Office of State Power,
  • Phu Hin Rong Kla is accessible via Petchabun-Lom Sak Road where a left turn is to be made through Highway No.12 to Ban yaeng and proceed on to Amphoe Nakhon Thai where an access road branches off to the park which is regarded more convenient than any other route.
