Mega Man 5
Break Man has turned evil? Well, actually, it's not him--it's a clone of him created by Dr. Wily to frame Mega Man's red-clad brother. But the plan goes well for a while--even Mega Man is convinced that his own brother has turned against him for some unknown reason. That is, until the real Break Man escapes and manages to reveal to Mega Man his clone's true identity!
Special Features:
Capcom's last few Mega Man games have fallen to the deceptive side, and this one is no exception. I believe this game is the one greatest at fault for everyone's misconception that Mega Man's brother is evil...

Mega Man's Order:
The same as the suggested order, below.
Suggested Order:
- Star Man (Use Mega Buster)
- Gravity Man (Use Star Crash)
- Gyro Man (Use Gravity Hold)
- Crystal Man (Use Gyro Attack)
- Napalm Man (Use Crystal Eye)
- Stone Man (Use Napalm Bomb or Mega Buster, because he's immune most of the time)
- Charge Man (Use Power Stone)
- Wave Man (Use Charge Kick)
Teleporting Hatch Layout:
Gravity Man Charge Man
Wave Man Gyro Man Napalm Man
Stone Man Star Man Crystal Man
Bosses:
- Sentinel 1:
- Use Charge Kick or Water Wave.
- Sentinel 2:
- Use Crystal Eye
- Sentinel 3: (They all look alike!)
- Use Gyro Attack
- Protoman:
- This is a joke on my part because you don't ever fight Protoman; Break Man shows up and destroys the robot's holographic cloaker, revealing it to be Wily's Dark Man robot. Anyway, against Dark Man use Beat and let the little bird do the attacking while you dodge.
- 1st boss in Wily's Castle:
- Use Crystal Eye and Mega Buster
- 2nd boss:
- Use Gyro Attack
- Wily 1st time:
- Use the Mega Buster
- Wily 2nd time:
- Beat!!
Passwords:
Blue: B4, D6, F1 Red: C1, D4, F6 This will get you to Protoman's terror of a castle. Even with this you still can't, however, skip Protoman's fortress. Sorry.
Weapons:
- Charge Kick: This one is cunning because the normal fire button does not work. To use it, equip it and slide. Mega Man's feet will be surrounded by an energy wave which damages whatever he slides into.
- Crystal Eye: Fires a large orb which breaks into smaller orbs if it hits a wall or similar object.
- Gravity Hold: This one is cute. It will reverse the gravity of all enemies on the screen (except those who are immune of course), hurling them off the top of the screen.
- Gyro Attack: Fires a spinning copter-like blade. Can change direction once; press up or down on the control pad to send it flying in that direction.
- Napalm Bomb: Small rolls of napalm bounce along the ground, exploding after they hit something or after a preset time limit.
- Power Stone: Chunks of rock circle around Mega Man in a spiral which grows increasingly larger until the rocks go right off the screen.
- Star Crash: The name is deceptive; this is simply another of the infamous shields. It will stay active until it hits certain objects, or you can fire it off by pressing the fire button a second time.
- Water Wave: A wave of water travels along the ground.
Items:
Collect letters to spell "MEGAMANV" and Beat will be added to your arsenal. Most of the letters are easy to find; it's getting them that is difficult.
- M: Gravity Man's stage. You need to time your jump just right...
- E: Wave Man's stage. It's during the jet-ski ride, after the Octoboss.
- G: Stone Man's stage. This is the hardest one to find because it's actually hidden. Near the beginning of the stage, look for a row of blocks in a wall on the right edge of the screen. The blocks will look different than the rest of the wall. Blast them with your arm cannon and slide through the gap you create.
- A: Gyro Man's stage. You might have to drop for it!
- M: Star Man's stage. If you keep hitting the spikes, try this: allow yourself to be hit by the cannon to your right first...then use your temporary invincibility to grab the letter.
- A: Charge Man's stage. You need Rush Coil.
- N: Napalm Man's stage. Can't miss seeing it. You can, however, miss landing on the ledge it's on!
- V: Crystal Man's stage. It's in the spike-lined pit. Hold left.
- Rush Coil: Luckily you have this from the start.
- Rush Jet: Get it by defeating Gryo Man.
- Super Arrow: You get this when you defeat Star Man. Try standing on it.
Tricks:
- Try using Beat in the first station of Protoman (AKA Dark Man's) castle. You'll need to preserve your own energy for the battles against the Sentinels!
- Use a Mega Tank when you have full energy and weapons, and when you exit the menu, all of the enemies on the screen will be transformed into 1-Ups! If there are no enemies on the screen when you attempt this trick, you will gain one life.
