This page is used to assess the effect of JPG compression on the image quality.  Each of the four images below has three levels of JPG compression using LViewPro, namely 95%, 80% and 60%. You will note that with higher compression ratios, the file size can be remarkably reduced in some instances.

Low power view of the entire biopsy. Several vesicles with the plane of cleavage in the suprabasal layer of the epidermis are seen. The dermis contains an inflammatory reaction. 640x480 images with 95% (184K), 80% (93K) and 60% (60K) compression quality.
High power view of base of vesicle. Acantholytic cells characteristic of pemphigus are seen.  640x480 images with 95% (161K), 80% (68K) and 60% (41K) compression quality.
Another high power view. In addition, degenerate eosinophilic epithelial cells are also present.  640x480 images with 95% (144K), 80% (58K) and 60% (35K) compression quality.
Inflammatory infiltrate in the underlying dermis.  640x480 images with 95% (178K), 80% (80K) and 60% (51K) compression quality.
