Welcome to the Ayashi No Ceres character page. This page tells you a bit about some of the main characters in the story.
She was a normal high school girl, who enjoyed her carefree life until... her 16th birthday. On her birthday, she went to her Grandfather's house with her twin brother Aki, where they were shown a mummified hand. Aya's reaction to this hand, gave proof that she is the re carnation of a powerful tennyou-Ceres. Aya soon finds herself hunted down by her family, and separated from her beloved brother. She also has to avoid her cousin Kagami, who is interested in the dark side of her. In desperation of getting back together with Aki and her parents, Aya tries to find a way to change fate and bring things back to normal.
Long ago a tennyou was trapped here on earth because her hagoromo was stolen. This tennyou was Ceres. She had a terrible life when she was on earth as her husband treated her badly. Even the day she died, she was not able to retrieve her hagoromo. Filled with anger and hatred she was continuously reborn onto Mikage girls hoping for revenge and to find her hagoromo. Unfortunately, the Mikage knows of the reincarnation and on ever Mikage girls 16th birthday, they are tested to see if Ceres is reborn. If she shows sings of tennyou power, she is killed. This went on for many generations, until she was reborn in Aya. Aya managed to escape from her family. Though full of hatred for the Mikage family, she is unable to do anything as Aya was able to suppress her. Aya promises to help Ceres find her hagoromo as long as Ceres will not hurt anyone. Through Aya, Ceres manages to extinguish this hateful feeling as she learns more about the human life.
He is the twin brother of Aya. During the test put in front of Aya, Aki suddenly developed many scars on his body. He turns out to be the reincarnation of Shiso, the man who stole the hagoromo and claimed Ceres his wife. This resulted in Aya and Aki becoming enemies as Ceres threatens to kill Aki. Kagami claims to help Aki and through his hi-tech machine, Kagami was able to completely suppress Aki's personality and brings out Shiso. Will Aki be able to turn back to his normal self...
This was the man who stole the hagoromo from Ceres. After receiving Ceres's power, he becomes heartless and treated Ceres badly. Seeing the monster she had created, Ceres was forced to kill Shiso hence the scars on his body. Reborn in Aki, Shiso still has an obsession with Ceres, and wants her back. He will do anything to get her back.
He is a mysterious man with anemia. All he remembers is his name is Tooya and the word Mikage. Determined to find out who he is, he finds the Mikage International, where he is employed by Kagami. He and Aya creates a strong bond between each other but Tooya is reluctant to show his feelings due to his mission to capture Ceres. Tooya has many special extra-ordinary abilities due to his connection with Ceres.
A widow and also possess tennyou blood, though less pure that Aya's. She rescued Aya from her family when Ceres emerged and offered to protect her from her family. Since then, Aya stayed with Suzumi where Yuuhi, Suzumi's brother-in-law, protected her. Though she looks like a strong woman, she is very weak deep down, and misses her dead husband very much. She stays strong for the sake of Yuuhi, whom she promise to look after.
He is a high school boy who lives with his sister-in-law. His ambition is to open up the best restaurant in town, as he loves to cook. He is also good at fighting too and uses a pair of steel chopsticks during combat. When Aya appears in his life, he is "ordered" by Suzumi to protect here. Through this he develops strong feeling for Aya, although it is one-way. Also he has a strange ability as to be able to revert Ceres back into Aya with a kiss. Though he doesn't show it, he feels really lonely. His Mother left him when he was little and his family didn't think much of him because of his situation, which is why he is living with Suzumi. He thought that he didn't need a family until Aya persuaded him that family is important to everyone, After a specific incident, he finally begins to accept his family again as they begin to accept him.
Also known as Q-chan, she is Suzumi's maid. Seems to know how to do everything, even fly a plane. She thinks that she looks like famous film stars/pop idols, and she always give the others a fright when she dresses up. She's always going after cute guys, like Tooya where she tries to kiss him every chance she got. Never get into the same car with her though as she is a TERRIBLE driver.
He is Aya's cousin and also the director of the C-project conducted by Mikage International. He is deeply interested in Ceres and her powers and intends to capture her for studies, so that he can manipulate the powers of the tennyou. He tries many ways to find other C genomas (girls with tennyou blood) so that he can gather them up and produce a "perfect" race. In doing this many people has died making Aya extremely unhappy. He seems to have an obsession with Ceres since he found a picture of a Mikage girl turned into Ceres a long time ago and kept it ever since. This is probably why he is deeply interested in the C-project.
Although she has child-like looks, Chidori is actually Aya's age. She is a loud, bubbly girl. She appeared looking for Ceres to help boost her brother's confidence in walking. Later she was found to possess tennyou blood through drugs distributed by Kagami in the water supply. she can transform into her tennyou form whenever she likes and when she does, she actually looks her age. As she is a C-Genoma, she decides to tag along with Aya and Yuuhi and help them find the hagoromo. She has strong feelings for Yuuhi, but Yuuhi only likes Aya.
she has been disguising as a guy ever since she was little to avoid trouble about the tennyou legend. She formed a famous pop idol group called GeSANG with Kei, a friend she known for years and secretly loved. Although she has a wonderful voice and GeSANG is very successful, she hates being a guy. Her tennyou powers was awaken also by the drugs Kagami distributed, which took Kei's life away. After Kei died she decided to go solo for the sake of Kei, while helping Aya find the hagoromo. In her tennyou form, Shuro has a very beautiful yet powerful voice, which brings about destruction to her surroundings every time she sings.
A skilled martial artist from China, and fights with a deadly chain whip and various throwing blades. He is employed by Mikage International to do all sorts of dirty jobs, and later to protect Aki/Shiso. He has a major grudge against Tooya after Tooya injured his left eye and he would love to see Tooya dead.
Born in Scotland, and studied in USA, Alexander decided to work for Mikage International because of his deep interest with the tennyou legends. He is very intelligent and provided a lot of modern machinery for the C-project. As he is the only one who knows how to assemble these machines, he is very valuable to the team. However, Alexander soon finds that things are not really going to what he expected so he tries to back out of the project, and help Aya and Aki in any way he can.
Assamu is a little orphan kid pick up by Kagami. He was trained by Mikage International to become a strong assassin. He thinks that killing is a game and loves to play about with his victims before killing them.
