Audrey, Missy Along with our ferrets we also have Missy, the cat. Missy was hanging around the neighborhood. A neighbor came over one evening and asked if our cat had gotten out. I told him we didn't have a cat. He said we did. I said we didn't. A few evenings later, hubby was in the garage working on some stuff with the door open. In walked this cat. Hubby didn't pay much attention, but when he was coming into the house, the cat was laying on some afghans that we'd used to move furniture when we moved into our house. He fed the cat ferret food, as that was all we had and gave her some milk. She stayed in the garage for a couple days, then I let her in the house. A year later when I took her into get her declawed, we found for certain that she was a he, but he wouldn't answer to anything but Missy, so we have a male cat named Missy.
For Valentine's Day this year, we bought a couple parakeets. They are noisy and messy, but we knew they would be. Hubby named them Sonny and Cher. They don't sing near as well as the human Sonny and Cher, more like chirping, squalking and squealing. I think they imitate Clark's squealing when Freddie's picking on him, because I sometimes can't tell if it's the birds or the ferrets making the noises.

We had to have a window fixed on our house. One of the workers said he needed to find a home for a bearded dragon. Hubby'd been wanting a bearded dragon forever, but they are expensive. So I ask how much. The price was right - FREE, including the enclosure and supplies. We now have a bearded dragon that we call Mini-Missy, because Missy thinks the lizard is his personal pet. They lay there, Missy on the table where the dragon's enclosure currently is and Mini-Missy in his enclosure. They look at each other, like they're carrying on a conversation. The only original member of Junassicpark from our days of reptiles and amphibians is Zig, our iguana. When we went to the petstore to purchase an iguana, all the iguanas in the tank were huddled in a back corner of the tank, ...well, except for Zig. She was running back and forth across the front of the tank like she was saying, "Pick Me! Pick Me!" So we did. She's now at least 7 years old and is still going strong. She has quite the attitude and would rather be left alone, except for the occasional walk outside in the summer. Madison came to us from a local animal control shelter. Her mother had been being bred by a backyard breeder. She got out and was hit by a car while pregnant with Madison and her brother. Animal Control picked up the mother and took her to a vet. The only thing wrong with her was that her tail was broken. She had her pups in the shelter. Madison made it, her brother did not. Animal Control had to have the mother euthanized after Madison was weaned as she was not and could not be socialized. Madison was 8 weeks old when we brought her home. She's very sweet and is totally in love with my husband. She's a pure-bred German Shepherd.
