Wild On           Jules Asner

A Jule of a Wardrobe As co-anchor of E! News Daily, Jules Asner covers the latest in
fashion and entertainment.

To dress for the job, she and stylist Dana Ravitch go for a look that's current yet classic.
"Here at E!, they let me have a little bit of say in what I wear, which I'm really glad about because I really wanted to make an effort to get away from blazers and suits. You wouldn't see most news anchors in burgundy leather pants, but you'll see this one in burgundy leather pants,"
gushes Asner
"I try to be trendy, but not in an over-the-top kind of way, so I look at all the new trends and all the new styles and pick things that are maybe aren't too crazy for me."
"For formal wear, especially when we're going to things like the Oscars or the Emmys, we're really lucky that we do work with some of the biggest designers."
For this year's Emmys, Jules ultimately chose a design by Randolph Duke. In case you're wondering, Jules doesn't get to keep the clothes, but she still feels pretty lucky.
"Every couple of weeks, I get twenty outfits to pick and choose from.
I think that's every woman's dream!"
What about Formal Wear?
Whose style does Jules admire? "If you look at Elizabeth Hurley, she always looks fabulous, and she's wearing a simple silhouette, but she has an amazing figure, it looks great on her. Also, I'm so tall. I look at people who have my body type, like Charlize Theron and Uma Thurman. I look at what works on them and I kind of try to see what they're wearing and if they can get away with it and try to pick up on things. I love Sarah Jessica Parker's style, but she's so petite -- a lot of the things she wears, I could never wear. I was on a set with Brooke Shields, and we're almost exactly the same height and body type, and I saw what she was wearing and I recognized it as being one of the designers they pulled from here."
"I hardly wear any makeup. I just wear lip gloss and mascara. Francois Nars does all the makeup for E!, and he has an amazing line." What about makeup?
And accessories? "I can't stand accessories. I don't wear any jewelry, any earrings, any matching necklaces. I have an engagement ring, which is my favorite accessory."
"At award shows I'm standing around for 3-4 hours at a time, so sometimes, I wear tennis shoes under my gown. I was at the Vanity Fair Oscar party last year and Tom Ford from Gucci came in, and I asked him if it was O.K. that I was wearing sneakers under my gown, and he said 'Absolutely.'" Bet you didn't know...
