CREDIT TO SHORT STORIES
Jodi Chai has agreed to interview several of the old-timers from Pepeekeo. She has submitted the first of several short stories from these interviews (see Feature Short Story/ "Small kid time").  Jodi  is a Communications Specialist for Hawaii Government Employees Association.  She is married to Garrett Chai, and they have a daughter Jenna who is 2 years old. She was born and raised in Wahiawa, Oahu (another plantation town)  -- pineapples, though). She is the daughter of Harry and Nancy Endo.  Harry is from Pepeekeo. Jodi's great-grandparents' were Masataro and Natsu Endo. She still has relatives in the Big Island: The Muneno family in Honomu and also the Matsuda and Imai family in Honokaa. She is the co-author of "The Okazu Guide: Oh 'Cause You Hungry," which is a guide to Oahu's local delicatessens. Together with co-author, Donavan Dela Cruz they have a second book, "The Puka Guide," a guide to Oahu's hole-in-the-wall eateries, which was released in  early December 2001.
