Colossus is a bit depressed and wants to visit his sister, but he knows he can't without revealing that the X-Men are actually alive. However, Gateway has a solution and transports him to his sister's side. Believing that she's summoned Colossus' spirit, Illyana and Colossus rescue the New Mutants who were captured by the witch Baba Yaga. A soothed Colossus bids a heartfelt farewell to his sister. |
August 1988 |
A Brood ship crash lands on Earth and it's only survivor begins to prepare take host bodies. The X-Men track it down and find it's human host. However, they quickly learn that it isn't along as it's backup up by its own brood. Meanwhile, Madelyne learns that her husband, Cyclops, has been reunited with his long, lost love Jean Grey. |
Early September 1988 |
The X-Men engage the Brood and learn that they're a fearsome match as the Brood mother has carefully selected mutant hosts. The Brood succeed in turning X-Men against X-Men. Havok, Colossus, and Storm regroup and prepare to face the Brood and their teammates in a dramatic final battle. |
Late September 1988 |
The X-Men continue their battle against the Brood and turn the tide of the battle in their favour. They're forced to kill all the host bodies, who are just innocent victims, to prevent the Brood from gaining a foothold. Meanwhile, a depressed Madelyne Pryor is tricked and lured over to the dark side by the demon S'ym. |
Early October 1988 |
A mutant special ops team called the Press Gang catches up with an expatriate mutant and forcibly ships her back to their home country of Genosha. That mutant was accompanied by Madelyne Pryor who was also taken captive, but not before alerting the X-Men. The X-Men track down the Press Gang and are met with fierce resistance by a group of anti-mutant police calling themselves the Magistrates. Pipeline, one of the members of the Press Gang, transports the captured Wolverine and Rogue to Genosha, while the X-Men take out the Magistrates. |
Late October 1988 |
Rogue and Wolverine don't take kindly to being sent to Genosha and fight back. That is, until the Genoshian mutant know as Wipeout takes their powers away and recapture them. Carol Danvers rises to the surface of Rogue's psyche and takes over control of her body. She able to escape from the prison with Wolverine. Meanwhile, the rest of the X-Men learn about the horrible treatment and enslavement of mutants in Genoshian from the Magistrates. |
Early November 1988 |
Rogue and Wolverine continue to evade Genosha's Magistrates eager to recapture them. However, without his healing factor, Wolverine is dying from the wounds he received in last issue's battle. They rescue the son of Genosha's Genegeneer, Philip Moreau, who was mistakenly taken to the Mutant camps. Meanwhile, the rest of the X-Men arrive in Genosha and are greeted with a warm response from the Genoshian military. Madelyne begins to demonstrate some powerful subconscious abilities. |
Late November 1988 |
Wolverine, Rogue, and Philip Moreau are recaptured and brought before the Genegeneer. Philip, after having seen the mutant camps first hand, confronts his father over what Genosha is doing to its mutant population. The rest of the X-Men arrive like the cavalry and take down the Genegeneer. Wipeout restores Wolverine and Rogue's powers. The X-Men warn the Genoshians to clean up their act or they'll be back. Mr. Sinister ponders the future of his schemes as he believes the X-Men died in Dallas. Meanwhile, the X-Men learn that Jean Grey is alive and is part of X-Factor along with the original X-Men. Madelyne Pryor makes her play for Alex Summers and he's helpless under the Goblin Queen's spell. |
January 1989 |
Madelyne Pryor fully gives in to her dark side, the Goblin Queen as she gathers her demons to go after her son, Nathan Christopher Summers, who was taken by Mr. Sinister. However, when she encounters Mr. Sinister she learns that he's her father. The X-Men pinpoint the location of the Marauders and attack, eager for some payback. Jay's Notes:
