R. Bert Carter, a Baskett researcher, furnished some papers which included Some desecendants of John Baskett and wife Elizabeth who came from England to Middlesex Co., VA before 1679, by James Jackson Tippin, Shreveport, LA. 12/31/44.

Mr. Tippin suggest:

  1. Henry Baskett (1-3) married Sarah Trigg 15 Jul. 1708 in MiddlesexCo., VA. Died in 8 Dec. 1720 (1-12) His will was dated 3 Jan. 1721 and is on file in the VA State Library, Richmond, VA. Children:

Daniel Baskett born about 1710.

Martha Baskett born 2 May 1713, married Matthew Crank in Middlesex Co., VA.

Mary Baskett born 15 Nov. 1715, married Wm. Gardner 12 Jan. 1732, Middlesex Co., VA.

b) Daniel Baskett (son of Henry Baskett & Sarah Twigg) married Mary _____ about 1736. Moved to Goochland, Co., VA and his wife Mary Baskett purchased land in 1738.

Edward Baskett (son of Daniel Baskett & Mary) baptized at Christ Church, Middlesex Co., VA 4 Dec. 1736.

  1. Thomas Baskett (son of John Baskett & wife Elizabeth) married Elizabeth ___ and died after 1724 in Essex Co., VA., married about 1707 in Virginia. He did not have a will, but there was an inventory of his estate in Essex Co., VA dated 1724.

William Baskett (son of Thomas Baskett & wife Elizabeth) may be the William Baskett who purchased land in Spotsylvania Co., VA 7 May 1745, Deed Book "D" page 169.

This William Baskett is most likely the William (1-7) son of Thomas and Elizabeth who was born May 31, 1715 and baptized in Christ Church in Middlesex Co., Virginia June 26, 1715.

This William Basktt (son of Thomas and Elizabeth Baskett) is a very good candidate for the William who died in Orange County, North Carolina about 1767. His Will, dated 17 July 1767, proved November 1769, Orange County, North Carolina list wife as Ruth Baskett; children Elizabeth Baskett, Ruth Baskett, Thomas Baskett and William Baskett.
