Description: M80 is a freeway standard road that forms part of a ring road around Melbourne's northern and western suburbs. It links Princes/West Gate Freeways (M1), Western Highway (M8), Calder Freeway (M79), and Hume Highway (soon to be Hume Freeway M31), continuing on to Greensborough in Melbourne's north-east. The section of road between M31 and M8 is part of the national highway, as it links the two. The road was completed in parts from 1992 to 1999. Before the new state route numbering system was introduced, the semi-complete road formed metropolitan route 80.

Length: 38.5 km

Condition: M80 is a four to six lane freeway which is in excellent condition, although in the past there have been dangerous sections where accidents have occured, along the National Highway section.
