Gardenvale

Gardenvale is a small suburb 10km south of Melbourne CBD on Nepean Highway. Not too long ago half of the suburb was taken over by the bayside suburb of Brighton (which also took half of Elsternwick and some of Elwood, to raise property values I'm guessing). It's main street is now in Brighton. Another thing to note is that a fair chunk of the shopping centre has been lost due to the widening of Nepean Highway in the 1970's.
