Moe

Moe is an industrial city of over 15,000 people, located in the LaTrobe Valley, 131km east of Melbourne just off Princes Freeway (M1). The area is characterised by large coal mines and power stations. Nearby the former township of Yallourn once housed the miners, but the town was demolished in the 1970's as the land was mined, and the residents moved to Moe. The town is spread out to the south and east of the town centre.
