Melbourne

The capital of Victoria has a population of over 3.2 million, covering an area of 8,806 square km. Melbourne is one of the most spread out cities in the world, and sits on the Yarra River, at the top of Port Phillip. The city boasts the title, 'The Most Liveable City in The World'. The 'villages' and suburb across Melbourne all have a different feel about them. St Kilda is a trendy bayside suburb known for its restaurants and nightlife, particularly along Fiztroy and Acland Streets and The Esplanade. Toorak, Brighton and Malvern are some of Melbourne's more wealthier suburbs. The city is famous for its Grand Prix, held each March in Albert Park. More recently the Docklands Area just to the west of the CBD has been totally redeveloped into a new suburb. Check out www.docklands.com/.
