Performance Skills

What follows is a brief overview of many of the performance skills I have acquired throughout my career in alphabetical order. This is by no means a complete list, nor does it go into depth on any one skill. It is intended to give you a better idea of what I can do to enhance your show.

Balloon Animals

I have been doing balloon twisting for many years, and have a repertoire of well over a hundred different balloon sculptures ranging from simple one balloon animals to sculptures taking many balloons and being both intricate and beautiful.

Clowning

I have done both a white face and a character clown and am comfortable and skilled at doing both.

Folk Ballads

I know or am familiar with a vast body of folk ballads from both the Irish/Celtic catalog as well as the American catalog. In the past, I have played both keyboard and six-string, guitar and banjo, and am in the process of regaining my mastery over both. In the meantime, I am quite capable of performing a'cappella and leading the audience.

Folk Ballads -- Ballads Most Bawdy

This is a separate grouping as I would not dare sing these songs in a church of any form. These are songs for the bar room and while just about everyone will sing along, almost no one will admit to it later. For the most part, these songs contain very little outright language. Instead, they tend to wrap it all up in double and triple entendres and nuances that can be taken on many levels.

Historical Characters

I have for many years both worked at and attended Historical events. These events range from Renaissance Faires to Buckskinner's Rendezvous to Civil War Encampments to more recent Historical periods. I am skilled both at creating a persona to fit the time period and clothing him in a believable outfit. The type of events I have worked cover a broad spectrum. There have been the multi-day festivals where I was required to be in persona for the entire time. Additionally, I have done banquets that last an evening and I was either by myself in a period persona or with a small group of entertainers who were likewise outfitted while the rest of the attendees where in modern clothing.
