Just what is a Historical Period Show?

Well, that question is both easy and hard to answer at the same time.

The easy answer is that a Historical Period Show is any show set in an historical time frame.

The hard answer takes a bit more. Let us start with the easy answer of any show set in an historical time frame and proceed from there. The next thing would be what kind of show are we talking about.

A Dinner?

A Wedding?

A Banquet?

A Convention?

A Family Reunion?

Yes, to all of these and many more. Basically, the type of event is not a problem; I have worked a wide range of events that have been set around an historical time period. You can find many of them listed under Public Shows that I have done.

Okay, so what happens at one of these events? Well, that depends on what you need to have happen at your specific event and what you've decided it will be. A better question would be, What could you do as an historical performer do to make my event stand out in the minds of the people who attend?

That is a much better question. In a nutshell, I come to your event dressed as an agreed upon character from your given historical time period and spend the event entertaining your guests as that character. An example of this might be if you were holding an Oilman's Ball. This would be a late 19th Century event. You might have me come in as Gib Morgan, the Minstrel of the Oil Region. I would them spend the evening walking around as Gib, regaling your guests with stories, tales and legends of the Oil Era.

Further examples would include having me come in; as a gangster for a Roaring Twenties event, a pirate for a Spanish Main or Nautical event, a fire-eater for a Circus/Sideshow event, a bard or rover for a Mediaeval/Renaissance event, or.....

Well, I certain that you get the picture by now. Having me come in for your historical event whether as walk-around entertainment or to do a set show will add to both the enjoyment of those who attend and the memories that they take home with them afterwards.
