I suppose the first question to be answered here
is, 'Who are Bill and Fred?'
Alas, I have no idea. They, Bill and Fred, were
the butt of just about every hunting and fishing
story I heard growing up near the Allegheny
National Forest. The stories told about them were
all very similar in nature. Basically, they all
began with Bill and Fred coming to our neck of the
woods from some big city. The city they were/are
from varies with each teller and moves around
quite a bit. Somehow, though, they do mange to get
out our way to do a spot of hunting or a bit of
fishing and that when the fun begins. They never
can get it right. There is always something they
mange to do wrong and in a way that makes one
chuckle at the two of them. Of course, not to be
chauvinistic about it, several of the tales told
about these two involve their wives as well.
I can do a show solely on the hunting exploits of
our intrepid duo, or solely on their fishing
exploits, or a show that's a little of both. It
really matters not as there is a wealth of
folklore surrounding these two. So, come, spend
and evening and get to know the ins and outs of
hunting and fishing with Bill and Fred.
