The Who eventually venture into the USA to tour with, of all people, Hermans Hermits. It was on this tour where they performed for Murray the K. This man was an enigmatic DJ who would host a chaotic live band showcase in front of an audience. The Who having agreed to do the show where obliged to per form two minutes of one song, two minutes of another, wreck their equipment and run off. Five times a day, seven days a week, for a fortnight! The Album was The Who Sell Out. This was a concept album which took the bands' songs and run them alongside real jingles recorded from the pirate radio stations of the day to form a almost uninterrupted long player. This also had echoes of Tommy.

Singles released where:
I Can See for Miles and Pictures of Lily.
