Made in 1917 staring Elmo Lincoln and Gordon Griffith

If you are a Tarzan fan and have not seen this one, then by all means find a copy and watch it, but be sure to get the full 63 minutes. I have seen an edited version on TV which leaves out a lot of good shots. Since it is silent I will let the story boards I captured tell the summary. (I did not capture them all, but you can follow the story from what I did capture.) I have been told that this is the closest any Tarzan film has ever come to following the book. I have not read the book so I can not say for sure.
However, I will add that since this is a silent film facial expressions are very important, and it is my opinion that in this respect Gordon Griffith (Tarzan as a boy) was the best actor in the film. I tried to capture this in the shots below, but they are not the same in still shots.

Young Tarzan is nude for quite a while in the early part of the move, his bare bottom is seen often, but to avoid offending anyone, I picked my captures carefully not to show it.
