The Extreme Channel - Sky 422
This April look out for the increased coverage of mountain bike action on the Extreme Channel. Today I saw some of Union. Previously, I've seen the Down series, Evolve, Shift, the Mud Cows series and Extreme Wipeouts. Look out next Thursday on the 17th, for 'Jib'. The trailer looked pretty dam cool, with an amazing stair jump crash.
Also keep an eye out for Mountain Bike Britain, Chilli factor and The Ride Guide. Recently these programmes have featured duel, freeriding, street, jumping and downhill. It can be annoying now and then when they feature XC badly. This is where they use fast zoom camera and tilt a lot to make it more interesting, but it just looks wrong.
The Extreme Channel does feature a lot of surfing and skating and bmx so son't expect to much mountain biking. There is always an up-beat feel to the programming though and the channel gives a lot of interviews and various venue information.
If you don't have sky, ask a friend to tape any show to build up a solid vid collection, and allow good use of slow motion.
Also, I've appeared on the Extreme Channel with Jack, from the 2001 bike show. A proper close up too. No autographs.
