Death also given as 22 Apr 1814 Maury Co, TN., 1796, and its vast new land areas beckoned the Orange County pioneers. Richard & Mary Fausett, with their four children, followed one of the many old indian trails into Sumner County, settling at West Gallatin, about twenty five miles to the north of the present site of Nasville. y. es of his 640 acre parcel of land in Sumner county. rn in 1802, followed two years later by John McKee December 22, 1804, and William McKee January 6, 1807.s a gift of Alexander McKee to Thomas Ryan Butler of Robertson County, Tennesseeement near Columbia in Maury County, Tennessee, about sixty five miles to the south of the present city of Nashville. Just why the family moved to this area is unknown, but since he was a farmer, I assume the lands held promise for him and Mary, obedient to the desires of her husband, again uprooted her household and together with Richard faced again new frontiers for better opportunities for rasing their family. They became part of the great westward movements of colonizers and settlers along the frontier trails. Richard Fausett property was on Silver Creek about 12 miles southeast of Columbia. While the Ivies, Allreds and Sanders lived in Bedford County, and the Faussetts and McKees lived in Maury County, they lived in close proximity to each other. The Ivies and Sanders were members of the Rock Creek church, while the Faussetts had some connection to it. The Fausett property after 1812 was about 12 miles southeast of Columbia on Silver Creek, in Maury County, near the Rock Creek church.
