[NI427] John was born in Hartford, but raised in Farmington. He appears on the list of freeman in 1669 and the list of proprietors in 1672, together with his father. He also subscribed to the articles of 1674 and made an effort to secure his right to the "Waterbury Estate" of which he was a pioneer. He is called "Senior" in the Waterbury records. His will was dated Farmington, 27 Dec 1706, but he speaks of himself as "of Waterbury". He died soon after this date, in his 67th year, and the inventory of his estate was made in March 1707.
[NI3111] Lydia came from a family which produced many physicians over the course of 250 years, and she seems to have inherited the medical talent which "ran" in the family. She long served the town as midwife and was highly regarded. The record of her second marriage calls her "Mistr. Lydia Brounson", and this term Mistress is rarely found in the records of eighteenth-century Connecticut.

[NI5999] He was an original proprietor of Hartford, CT, 1639. He removed to Wethersfield, CT, where he was also an original proprietor. He became a member of the Court of Magistrates, 28 Mar 1637, and continued a magistrate until he was chosen deputy governor, 18 May 1654 (again in 1656, 1657, 1659.) He was the first treasurer in 1639, Secretary of the Colony in 1640, and held the office until 1649. In 1649 he was a Commissioner of the United Colonies; Governor in 1655 and 1658.
[NI5998] Elizabeth had a brother John Demming, who was one of the first settlers of Wethersfield. Elizabeth's will, dated 28 March 1678, names sons Robert and Nathaniel Foote, daughters Sarah Judson (deceased), Churchall, goodrich, Barnard and Smith, and grandchildren Daniel & Elizabeth Foote, John Studder, Joseph & Benjamin Churchall. Captain John Allin is named executor. Brother John Deming Sr. and grandson Henry Beck are named overseers of her will.
