INDEX
[NI1809]
They moved to Franklin Co, GA after their marriage. Sometime before 1806, the family moved to Warren County, Kentucky. They moved to Yellow Banks on the Ohio River by 1808. In 1811 they moved to Bedford County, Tennessee. In 1830 they moved to Monroe County, Missouri . Here they settled down, and on the 10th of September, 1832, they were baptized into The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-Day Saints by Elder George M. Hinkle. At this place a large branch of the Church was organized and called d two sons, and two sons-in-law joined the company of the Prophet Joseph Smith. In June,1834, they went to the upper part of Missouri. In 1835, they moved to Clay County, Missouri, and in the spring of 1837 to Caldwell County. James Allred was elected judge and also elected president of the Southern Firm. When the Church left Missouri in the spring of 1839 he and his family moved to Pittsfield, Pike County, Illinois. In the fall of the same year he moved to Commerce, which later became Nauvoo. Here he was ordained a High Priest and a member of the High Council. He was one of the Prophets body guards in the Nauvoo Legion, and held several other responsible positions. He helped to build the Nauvoo Temple and assisted in giving endowments there. On February 9, 1846, James crossed the Missouri River to go west with the leaders of the Church. He arrived at the Missouri River only to go farther west in July of the same year. Here he was made president of the High Council, and acting Bishop at Council Point.
ns. He arrived at Salt Lake City in October of the same year. He went to Manti, Sanpete County, in March 1852 and later to Canal, which is now known as Spring City. He was called to preside over the branch of the Church at Spring City in 1853. He was ordained a Patriarch in the Church in the years to come. While they were living in Spring City, or Canal as it was called, Indians drove most of their horses and cattle away in July 1853, and they were forced to move back to Manti. However, the next October he with ten of his relations, and forty Danish families, moved back to Canal. In 1854, he, with a company of fifty families were called to build a fort at Cottonwood, now called Ephraim. It was a fort of stone with walls ten feet high. This was finished and he James Allred was called to preside over it until 1860. After his release he moved back to Canal where he resided until his death. He raised twelve children of his own and the eight orphaned children of his son Martin Carrell.
[NI1801]
Migrated to Monroe County, Missouri c 1829-30. as did other members of the Ivie and Allred families.ave remained staunch Mormons at least until 1843, as the children born between 1837-43 are named for leading Church figures, Emma, Joseph, Hyrum and Amasa Lyman. Yet in 1846, Isaac Allred (younger) states that his oldest brother, William H. Allred, had left the church.
1850 Adair County, MO census.
1860 Collins Co, TX census.igrated to Utah, probably around 1874-5, when much temple work was done. Son Wilson Monroe Allred married Elizabeth Ann Ivie on 25 January 1875, in Price, Carbon Canyon, Utah; daughter Purlina Jane Allred married her uncle James T. S. Allred on 29 November 1875, in Salt Lake City, Utah. This was a polygamous marriage. William H. married (1)Martha Coles, and (2) Eliza Elvira Allred, the daughter of his brother Martin C. Allred. According to the 1880 census, William H. was living in Piute County, Utah with his wife Martha Coles and two of her sons by a previous marriage.

INDEX
[NI3559]
Daughter of John Craggen Sr of Woburn, MA. From "The American Genealogist" April 1994 Vol. 69, No. 2 "The Will of John Craggen of Woburn (executed 30 May 1704 and proved on 29 November 1708) is quite clear in identifying Francis NURSE of Reading as his son-in-law (Middlesex Co., Mass., Probates #5296)." Although death records in Reading are scanty, there is no indication that Francis NURSE was married more than once. There is no death record for Sarah (CRAGGEN) NURSE. She received her dower on 12 June 1716 and was apparently living in 1733, when the estate records of her son Francis mention her third of his homestead. She had died in or by 1746, when her dower portion of her husband's estate was returned for disbursement. (Neal Anc., 27.) She was probably nearly eighty-two years old when she died.
