[NI2863] Jacob was a Private in the Revolutionary War (Capt. Newland's Co in Burke Co, NC), and received a $50/month pension. He fought at King's Mountain. His son Henry applied for his father's pension in 1853. Jacob's three brothers (Conrad, Leonard, and George) also fought in the Revolutionary War.
[NI2883] Served in the Revolutionary War under Capt. Aaron Lewis of Col. William Campbell's Regiment of the Virginia Militia. He also served under Capt. John Jimerson at Butcher's Station, Campbells Station. He also served under Capt. James Dysant at the Battle of King's Mountain, where he was shot several times.
